오늘 발표된 FCC의장 Julius Genachowski의 오픈인터넷정책에 대해 구글의 빈튼서프부사장이 구글폴리시블로그에 글을 남겼다.

그중에 마음에 드는 부분.

“They should not, however, be in the anti-competitive business of picking winners and losers. For example, carriers should not be allowed to degrade access to competitors’ web sites, to favor access to a corporate partner or their own value-added services to the detriment of a Mom and Pop shop, or to discriminate against protected political speech.”

“그들(ISP)은 승자와 패자를 골라내는 반경쟁적 비즈니스를 하면 안된다. 예를 들어, 캐리어는 경쟁자의 웹사이트에 대한 연결을 제한하거나 자신들의 제휴회사, 자신의 서비스연결을 우선하면서 중소비즈니스를 차별하거나 정치적 발언을 차별해서는 안된다.”(대충번역)

브로드밴드 연결사업자, 이통통신 사업자들이 이런 철학을 지켜주길 바란다.

그리고 무엇보다도 구글이 이런 철학과 일관성을 구글의 서치결과에서도 공정하게 유지하길 기대해본다. 인터넷자유경쟁과 혁신을 촉진하는 힘이다.
